Today was day two for Bill's Triumphant Return to Microsoft. Most of said triumphant return was spent setting up my office and wrestling with the corporate network, but I had a few glimpses into Identity, the area I hope to be spending the next few years wrapping my brain around, and it's absolutely fascinating. More later.

Meanwhile it's gratifying to see so many new signups lately - I have hope we'll make my arbitrary goal of 8000 subscribers by the end of the year - and so many Library raid jackets and Read Responsibly book bags sold at our store. I'm not going to say that Gene and I disagree about merchandise, but there will be a lot of crowing if current trends continue. Mostly it's nice to see that the business can more or less run itself whilst I'm earning a paycheck. Knock on wood.
