It has not completely escaped me that Dewey's feelings about Christmas are reminiscent of PVP's Brent Sienna's. But it really is a coincidence. Dewey tends to display facets of either Gene or I or both. In this case it's Gene, who truly dislikes the entire season. That he ended up with a girlfriend (though he wouldn't use that word) that loves it is just one of those deterministic plot devices. Who else could he end up with, really?

And anyway, there are worst things to copy than PVP. If you see us showing elements of Family Circus or Garfield you have my permission to shoot me.
