We just reordered a bunch more Library Raid Jackets, Hats, and Read Responsibly book bags. We are trying to walk the usual delicate merchandising balance of not having too much or too little stuff in stock. But we're gearing up for two big summer conferences (ALA and ComicCon) not to mention the preorder period for Volume 3, where we'll likely sell some extra stuff. So we write a big check and hold our breath.
Did I say before how excited I am about our upcoming book? I was young and naive. I didn't know what excitement was. This morning I drew most of the cover. Now I am truly excited. This book will positively jump off shelves into people's shopping baskets. Especially when they realize that it contains not only a year's worth of Unshelved but possibly the best comic book ever created. Possibly.
It became clear at the last couple of conferences we attended that we would sell more things if we took credit cards. So we are about to invest in a nifty little wireless card swiper that will let us take credit cards pretty much everywhere. The machine isn't cheap, and of course they take a little bit of every transaction. But we think we'll sell enough more stuff to make it worthwhile.
