We just passed 14,000 email subscribers, which seems like a lot by almost any metric. Welcome to all of you who are new to Unshelved. We aims to please, even though thanks to my ongoing back problems we aren't quite as timely as one might prefer.

For those of you following the saga of Bill's Back, it's worth noting that it's getting better. Not quickly and not dramatically, but slowly and surely. I was on full disability from my day job for several months, but I am now back part-time. I probably won't be fully healed until this winter, but I am increasingly able to do normal human things like play with my kids. Desk work is actually one of the hardest things, which makes sense because that's how I hurt myself in the first place, so those are the muscles affected.

Anyway, thank to those who have sent kind wishes and a spectrum of advice. One day we'll all jello wrestle together, just like the good old days.
