With regard to Tuesday's strip, several readers have asked how Mel knew what Dewey said in his job interview if she wasn't his manager back then (which she wasn't). Answer: I dunno. We just thought it was funny. But if you are one of those people who insists on tight continuity, then let's assume she was part of an "interview loop." I wonder if she voted Hire or No Hire? I often wonder whether Mel is happy that Dewey works for her, or not. Probably a little of each.
