Here's the script for today's strip that Gene and I agreed on.

A strange looking man at the reference desk.
Man:  Carrot sticks walk upright.
Dewey:  I'm not sure I...

Man:   My thresher needs regular maintenance.
Dewey:   I know just who to call.

Man:  Have you rinsed your butter churn?
Buddy:  My cabbage runs blue!

As I sat down to draw it, I realized that all of Dewey's dialogue was superfluous, and that a little body language would go a long ways. I think it's much better.
