Our integrity is being called into question.

Our policy is to keep a strict wall between comic strip content (daily strips and book clubs) and advertising. Here's why we feel that policy is being observed:

1. We would have run this exact sequence with or without this sponsor. It's a topic relevant to libraries, about which we had something to say.
2. It's not about them, it's about their category. It applies equally to any of their competitors.
3. We have enough weekly sponsors now that we can and do turn away business. We didn't need to take their particular money.

But the bottom line is that we want to do right by our readers. If you have an opinion about this, feel free to mail me. I can't promise a personal reply, but I promise to read every one.
