Let's Make a Music Video

Remember that library song that I made? It was extremely well received, with a lot of folks saying some very kind things indeed. Now we want to turn it into a music video featuring you.

Here's the deal.

  1. Pick a favorite verse or two, and film one or more of the following:
  • You acting out your interpretation of the lyrics. Maybe you'll be renting a horse, or sending an 8" floppy disc by fax, or looking into a forgotten archive.
  • You lip syncing to the music
  • Something else we haven't thought of
  1. Save that video somewhere on the Internet (I'm partial to Dropbox). Video should be landscape format, ideally 720p or 1080p. We'll ignore the audio track, so don't worry about what you say or how you sound. You can provide multiple segments but please keep them under about 10 seconds each.

  2. Send us a link. Don't send us the file by email, don't share a folder. Just send us a URL where we can find the video segment(s). Send it to Gene, who will be our stalwart video editor.

  3. By sending us the link, you agree to let us use some or all of your video in the creation of our music video, which will release under a Creative Commons BY-NC-SA license. We won't use your video for any other purpose without your permission.

  4. Tell us the names of everyone in the video and affirm that you got their permission to use their images for this purpose.

That's it! Now go get filmmaking. We will update this blog post when we have enough material, hopefully in a few weeks.
