Pimp My Bookcart 2009 : Good Humor

from Harlem High School Welding 3

Having gone into hiatus in the 1970s, the traditional bicycle ice cream carts have been brought out of retirement in our community this year. In honor of this, our Advanced Welding Class chose the 1970s ice cream cart as their theme. It is fully functional including pedals, steering, handbrake, umbrella, and even a working bell. The décor is straight out of the seventies as well, including a flower cup and peace signs. As a bonus touch of whimsy, the spokes are laced with a tennis ball and playing cards. Suffice it to say, teachers in our building were wondering if they were hallucinating as their librarian sped by in the hallway, ding, ding!!!

We simply love this one. We both both want to take this for a spin, though we doubt the umbrella would keep the books dry in Seattle. They win their choice of any Smith System book truck.
