Per an agreement with Bill, I offer the following warning up front about Poopy Claws:
Poopy Claws is a short, sweet, gross, funny, all-ages graphic novel about a boy and his best friend, a cat named Stinky.
Stinky doesn’t use his litter box, but he does like to use the boy’s sandbox and mom’s closet. Unfortunately, (1) Stinky doesn’t clean his paws afterward, (2) mom is a bit of a clean freak, and (3) mom’s overbearing aunt is coming for dinner.
Written by Gene Ambaum (@ambaum), librarian and co-creator of Unshelved. Gene thinks poop is funny. Really funny. And his cat also has filthy paws.
Illustrated by Sophie Goldstein (@redinkradio), co-creator of the not-always-safe-for-work comic Darwin Carmichael Is Going To Hell and other work you can see on her tumblr. She’s currently attending The Center for Cartoon Studies.
There are two editions:
- The Standard Edition is a 7" x 9" 52 page hardcover signed by Gene
- Each Artist's Edition (limit: 100 numbered copies) also has a signed original drawing by Sophie
