Saturday's strip is notable for three reasons. One is of course the guest appearance by Jon Rosenberg of Goats (which currently is undergoing a tedious visit by a particularly bizarre guest cartoonist). Another is that I'm dabbling with brush inking again. I brush-inked almost all the strips for our first year and half. Then I drew my 24-hour comic with markers and thoght, "gee, this is much easier!" But I feel the quality has suffered a little. Last week I brush-inked a bunch of commissioned drawings and realized how much I had missed the feel and look of a good brush-inked drawing. So I'm trying it again. I have no idea what this means for my theories about drawing the strip on a Tablet PC. Finally, it's notable because I inked it while my daughter Rosie was laying on my lap, babbling away at my recyling bin.
