Unshelved comic strip for 4/7/2003

Hurtling into print

Here at Unshelved HQ there is talk of little else but the upcoming book. I'm spending all my time on the cover drawing, and we're chasing down the last of our blurbs. I hope to send it all off to the printer on Friday.

Meanwhile preorders are coming in at an impressive clip, which is very exciting because printing up thousands of copies of a book is somewhat of a leap of faith. Yes, we have a lot of regular readers, but how many will actually invest in our book? We have guesses but no way to know. We could really lose our shirts on this one. Anyway, if you're thinking of preordering, sooner is better than later because (a) we have a finite supply of bookmarks, but more importantly for us (b) the number of preorders will help us determine our print run.
