I finished the project I've been working on for the last two weeks. It's an advertising engine. You can see the first ad today (ours) on our home page. When the code seems stable to me I'll add it to our daily email and RSS feed.
You may have mixed or outright negative feelings about our selling ads. The truth is that advertising is a key component of our plan to make Overdue Media support us both financially so that we can write and draw and do talks full time. I will say that we plan to be very picky about the advertisers (and advertisements) we accept so that our readers aren't offended or annoyed. No X10 Camera ads here.
We plan to start running third-party ads in the new year. If you're interested in sponsoring Unshelved, please write me.
P.S. And if you've been reading this blog lately you'll know this means I'm free to assemble my new computer. Yay!
