Unshelved comic strip for 10/25/2010

Macmillan Kids One Book a Day

Please welcome this week's sponsor Macmillan Children's, "home to some of the most highly acclaimed and noteworthy children’s imprints in the publishing industry," bringing us five different books this week, Monday through Friday. Collect them all!

I particularly enjoy their blog which includes lots of guest posts from cartoonists they publish.

Machine of Death Day

Our friend, Wondermark's David Malki!, had an idea for a book, primarily of words but also with illustrations from some of my favorite cartoonists, a book of stories on one simple theme: a machine is invented that can tell you when you will die. He brought together dozens of great writers, also including some of my favorite cartoonists, and now the book is published and ready for you.

Here's his challenge: buy it on Tuesday, October 26 from Amazon using this link and prove that an Indie book can become Amazon's Number One Bestseller. I certainly will. And if this note came too late, well, go ahead and buy it anyway, from wherever you like. It looks awesome.

Update: We did it! Buy don't let that stop you from buying it. Let's keep it at number one through the end of 2013.
