Unshelved comic strip for 10/24/2011

Buddy Gets A Shirt

Buddy shirt

Gene and I have been waxing nostalgic lately. Our tenth anniversary is coming up in just a few months, and we've been reflecting on our accomplishments, but also on missed opportunities. Back in our "world's worst summer reading program" sequence, which introduced Buddy the Book Beaver, we talked about making the t-shirt that our fictional library would have handed out to its summer readers, but we never did it. Fortunately it's never too late to make awesome things, so voila, the official Mallville Public Library 2002 Summer Reading Program t-shirt.

On the front, Buddy in all his glory. On the back, the requisite list of sponsors. Black on white, in full Comic Sans glory. This is the most obscure possible Unshelved t-shirt, designed for our biggest and nerdiest fans, which is to say we made it for ourselves. But you can buy one too, starting at just $14.95, because black-on-white t-shirts shouldn't cost more than that.
