Unshelved strip for 6/3/2010

My iPad Review

1.5 pound, half inch thin touch-screen computer with everywhere connectivity.

Why I Picked It Up: 50% gadget lust, 45% hope that I could lighten my load when on the road, and 5% not wanting to be left behind when the revolution came.

Why I’m Keeping It:

  • Now I leave my MacBook at home unless I need to draw or code.
  • Also left at home: books. DRM’d eBooks suck, but I like reading on this thing a lot.
  • Actively prefer it for web surfing, email, Twitter, video, maps, and Words With Friends.
  • I enjoy holding the future in my hands.

I’d give it to: My dad, who needs a computer he can’t mess up by downloading malware.
