Our good friend Dave Kellett, cartoonist extraordinaire of Sheldon and Drive, has made a fantastic documentary about comic strips called Stripped. Last year he raised money for the film on Kickstarter, which allowed him to fly around the country interviewing cartoonists such as Garfield's Jim Davis and Calvin & Hobbes' Bill Watterson. He even managed to snag a few minutes with Gene and me.
The movie is now essentially done, but he needs a few more dollars so that he can pay the (egregious) fees to license copyrighted footage from days of yore that help paint the picture of how rich and famous cartoonists used to be (irony!). And he's added a special donation level for libraries and schools. Have a look at the incredible trailer (don't blink or you'll miss us) and see if there's a way you can help support this great project.
